It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Debra Ann Linder, a devoted wife and mother of three. After battling cancer for 21 months, Debi passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the age of 61. Her unwavering strength and courage throughout her illness have been an inspiration to all who knew her.

Debi was born on April 2nd, 1962, in Sheboygan, WI. Her parents, Edsel and Rosemary Holfeltz, raised her in their hometown where she attended Sheboygan North High School. During her high school years, Debi discovered her passion for people which led her to pursue a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

At Stout, Debi made lasting memories and lifelong friends. Some of her favorite stories were playing softball in shorts on a frozen lake and throwing keggers to pay the heating bill. Her time at Stout, along with her passion for people and her commitment to excellence, was a driving force behind her successful career where she opened, managed, and was a server in countless restaurants throughout the country. She relished the opportunity to meet new people every day and hear their stories.

Debi's love story with Scott Linder began a couple of years after college when they were introduced by a friend and had an instant connection. They have been inseparable ever since. After a few months of dating, Scott finally popped the question, and Debi said yes without hesitation. The couple tied the knot on May 7, 1988. Over the years, they have faced challenges together, but their love and commitment to each other have only grown stronger. Their 35 years of marriage is a true testament to the power of love and the beauty of a lifelong partnership.

Debi was a remarkable woman who devoted her life to her family. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She made a point to never miss her daughters' softball games or recitals. Always being there to cheer on her children and grandchildren was especially important to her. Her support for her husband was unwavering, and when he went back to college to further his education, Debi stepped up. Debi believed in raising her daughters to have empathy and open hearts and took them to regularly volunteer at a local food pantry for years. Through her selflessness and dedication, she instilled compassion and gratefulness in her family and those around her. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all those who knew her.

Debi was a woman who embraced adventure. She was always eager to discover new places and experience new things. This was evident in her and Scott's decision to move around the country despite not knowing a single person in their new communities. They lived in many places, but the places that meant the most to her were White Bear Lake, MN; Corpus Christi, TX; Houston, TX; and Fulton, MS, where they raised their daughters.

One of Debi's most memorable adventures was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hike with her family to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and stay overnight at Phantom Ranch. It was an experience that she cherished and spoke about often, as it was a true test of her physical and mental strength. Debi also enjoyed taking tropical vacations with Scott to Cabo San Lucas and the Bahamas. They would spend their days walking on the beach, soaking up the sun, day drinking, and enjoying the local cuisine. Debi never lost her sense of adventure. In fact, for her 61st birthday, she went indoor skydiving. Overall, Debi's spirit of adventure was contagious, and she inspired those around her to embrace life to the fullest and never stop exploring.

Debi could often be found in her garden, petting her chickens, playing with 'her boys' (her dogs, Chewy and Kahn), or enjoying the weather while catching up with a friend over the phone. However, come fall, Debi's focus shifted toward the Green Bay Packers. As a lifetime fan and Shareowner, Debi's support for the team knew no bounds but she always humored Scott and would cheer for the Vikings, too, except when the Packers and Vikings faced off against each other. During those highly anticipated games, all bets were off, and Debi would root for the Pack with every fiber of her being.

Debi's life was cut short due to a devastating disease, cancer, leaving a void in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace. She will be greatly missed, but her memories will live on forever.

Debi is survived by her husband, Scott Linder of Montgomery, TX; her siblings Donna (Peter-Buck) Doyle and Michael (Linda) Holfeltz of Sheboygan, WI; her daughters Heidi (Joseph) Heimerl of Reno, NV, Diana (Aleksandr) Vodlenshchuk of Wasilla, AK, and Francesca (Franci) Linder of Baytown, TX; her 5 grandchildren Persephone (Perci) Heimerl (6), Abraxas (Brax) Heimerl (4), and Lucian (Luc) Heimerl (11m), Rosemary Vodlenshchuk (2), and Tatiana Vodlenshchuk (10m); and a plethora of extended family.

Debi joins her parents, Edsel (Ed) and Rosemary Holfeltz and brothers Gerald (Jerry) Holfeltz and Thomas (Tom) Holfeltz.

Debi will be remembered for her infectious smile, her warm and welcoming personality, and her unwavering dedication to her family. Debi's loss will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
