Ferriday- Funeral services for Albert Garrison, affectionately called "Larry", 68, of Ferriday, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in Ferriday will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday with Pastor Charles Chandler officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

"Larry" was born November 14, 1955 in Natchez, the son of Rebecca Garrison and Albert Cooks.

He is a 1973 graduate of Vidalia High School, attended Grambling State University and was a retired heavy equipment operator. Mr. Garrison was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed softball, basketball, online chess and spending time with his family. "Larry" was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

"Larry" leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Yvonne Smith Garrison; son, Stanley Smith (Raven); daughters: Letitia Fleming (Harry), LeShea Riley, Jameca Garrison, KaMea Garner; brother, Bennie Shields; grandchildren: Quandarius Riley, Demarius Fleming, Trinity Riley, Madison Jackson, Aubree Riley, Skye Smith and Summer Smith; brothers-in law: Willie Smith (Rosie), Michael Smith, James Smith (Pam), Benjamin Smith (Ruby); sisters-in-law, Dessie Martin and Dorothy Smith, other relatives and friends.
