August Alexis Jr. passed away peacefully November 23, 2023 at the age of 93. August was born on August 23, 1930 in Bakersfield, California to August and Louise Alexis.

In 1949 August married Hazel Merrill and continued to farm in the Arvin area. In 1968 he moved his family to Orland, California to work for Plaza Farms. After working there for several years, he went to work running a gold mine operation in Greenville, California. While in the area August enjoyed fishing in the areas lakes. After retiring, August spent his time raising sheep in the Capay area.

August was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Hazel, son Michael, and Granddaughter Sara Parker. He is survived by son Kenneth Alexis, Daughter Donna Weaver (Dave), four grandchildren, Rene Gray, Raymond Gray, Jared Alexis, and Joel Alexis, one brother, one sister, and 5 great grandchildren.

Arrangements are held under direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary.
