Born on April 8, 1930 in Marytown, WI to the late Joseph and Anna Schaefer, Erma was raised in Marytown and married her sweetheart Ambrose there in 1950. After their marriage, they lived in Virginia while Ambrose was in the military and then spent the rest of their days together in New Holstein.
Family, playing cards, visiting people, traveling, and dancing were just some of her interests. She was employed at Leverenz Shoe Factory and Tecumseh in her earlier years, and in Food Service at the New Holstein Public Schools for 23 years before retiring. She also volunteered at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse for many years.
Being a woman of faith, Erma enjoyed fellowship at Faith Alliance Church in Chilton along with Victory Church in Waupaca where she spent her final years.
Erma is survived by her five children; Dennis (Morene) Ramminger, Brenda (Norbert) Witkowski, Linda (Matt) Gamerdinger, Allen (Jody) Ramminger, and Dale Ramminger, seven grandchildren; Ricky (Candace) Leach Jr., Jenny (Brian) Mrozek, Jessica Witkowski, Jeremy (Adrienne) Witkowski, Curtis (Xaarki) Gamerdinger, Dalton Ramminger, Garrett Ramminger, eight great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Marilyn Ramminger, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ambrose, one grandchild, Michael Gamerdinger, her parents and all of her seven siblings.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 at Faith Alliance Church in Chilton with Pastor Casey Carey of Victory Church in Waupaca presiding. Visitation 4:00 pm - 5:30pm with the service to follow. Entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
