Funeral services for Mrs. Morna Sue Block will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Oakdale, with Reverends Shannon Buxton and James Vandergriff officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Block, 66, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Morna Sue loved attending church and serving the Lord. She was loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Doyle, Jr. and Ima Hatch Doyle; and five sisters, Elsie Welch, Ella Welch, Eveleen Wathen, Cynthia Perkins, and Gloria Edenfield.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of fifty years, David Block, Sr. of Oakdale; one son, David Block, Jr. of Oakdale; one daughter, Sommer Coker (Steven), of Oakdale; two brothers, Elmo Doyle (Pat), of Plainview, and Delmo Doyle (Janet), of Pine Prairie; three sisters, Gracie Welch of Oakdale, Sylvia Jean Doyle of Kansas, and Edith Kay Piper of Monroe; ten grandchildren, Hannah Wilson (Jess), Zachary Block (Karlie), Carlee Block, Jaxson Lee David Slaney, Brynlee Buxton, Karter Block, Nova Block, Coby Coker, Braxton Coker, and Destiny Daigle; and five great grandchildren, Bentley Wilson, Porter Jones, Ellie Jones, Remi Kate Block, and Landry Mae Block.

A time of visitation will be held at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Oakdale, on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to thank everyone who visited, prayed, or checked on her. They witnessed the loving care of all the nurses at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Cancer Center and ICU Department.

Honored to serve as pallbearers: John Stanford, Roy Maricle, Derek Perkins, Andy Welch, Ashton Hayden, and Tristan Hayden.
