NDIANAPOLIS โ€” Marcella G. King Chanley, 74, Indianapolis, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Sunday at Kindred Hospital in Greenwood.

Born Jan. 17, 1934, in Shoals, she was the daughter of John T. and Phoebe (Thombleson) Ferguson. She married Ted King and he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1978. Her next marriage was to James R. Chanley and he survives.

She was a matron for the Perry Township Schools and retired in 1990. She graduated from Shoals High School and was a member of the South Keystone Church of Christ, Beech Grove Moose Lodge, Fletcher Place Senior Citizens and Carson Heights Neighborhood Association.

Surviving with her husband, James R. Chanley, Indianapolis, are sons: Duane (Carol) King and Dale (Diana) King, all of Indianapolis; daughters: Debbie (Mark) King, Huron and Marcia (Andy) Westerman, Shelbyville; sisters: Helen Sheetz, Loogootee and Nora Pate, Bloomington; grandchildren: April Herman, Evan King, Michael King, Cody Westerman, Alyssa Chanley, Kristan Chanley and Sarah and Amanda King, and great-granddaughter, Aiyana Chanley.

Her parents; first husband; and six siblings preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Memorial Chapel of the Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell. Burial will be in Port William Cemetery.
