Mary Ellen Shields, 51, Hays, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 20, 1954, in Hays to John F. and Rosemary (Billinger) Karlin.
She was married to Michael R. Shields, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Marian High School. She was a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Kinderknecht, Park, and Dustin J. Karlin, Hays; a daughter, Devon M. Meyer, Hays; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
