Oliver was the son of Nathaniel and Joanna Emerson. from Worcester County, Massachusetts. It is reported that he died July, 18 1778 in the Revolutionary War. The Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots states that he is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Acton, MA.
Oliver married 1st Frances Prescott, daughter of Amos and Ruth Prescott. They had 5 children: Lucretia b. 1761, Sabrina/Sorrina b. 1763, Samuel b. 1766, Augustus, b. 1768 and Francis b. 1770. She died Oct 30, 1770.
He married 2nd Anne Law. They had twins born in 1775 - Oliver and Nancy.
