Aileen Goolsby, 96, passed away on December 22, 2023. She was born in Texas City, Texas on January 20, 1927 to Gerald and Annie Barnes. She lived in Baytown for over 50 years, and worked several retail establishments including: Scarborough Drug Store, Reiter Optical and Foley's/Macys. She was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four of her five siblings, Gerald Barnes, Jr., her twin, Irene Lee, Stanley Barnes and Maurice Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Lewis Goolsby and two children, David Lewis Goolsby and Barbara Ann Goolsby.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Jo Ann Colson and husband Ken; son, John Edward Goolsby and wife Shana; her sister, Ann Olof; three grandchildren, Kyle Colson and wife Lori, Kevin Colson, and Abbie Goolsby; five great grandchildren, Makynlee Colson, Rowan Colson, Riley Colson, Kaden Colson, and Kimber Scarbrough.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX, Pastor Mike Martin officiating. Pallbearers: John Goolsby, Ken Colson, Kyle Colson, Kevin Colson, Abbie Goolsby.
