Frank Mejia, 78, of 858 S. Henderson St. died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at his residence.

Born Dec. 31, 1919, in Lerdo, DGO, Mexico, to Francisco and Leonor Mejia Salazar, he married Anastacia Perales on Dec. 31, 1970, in Galesburg. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Rick, Bill and Tim, all of Galesburg; one stepson, Andrew Kidd ; one daughter, Jean Treadway of Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Virginia Parks; four stepbrothers, Carlos, Vincent, Jesse and James Luna, all of Galesburg; one sister, Evelyna Vargas of Galesburg; and two stepsisters, Margaret Jimenez and Alberta Vega, both of Galesburg.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

He was a maintenance worker for the CB&Q Railroad for more than 10 years and for the Admiral Division of Maytag for 15 years, retiring in 1986. An Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 285 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2257.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
