Barbara Bosley Power peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on December 30, 2023, in Herndon, Virginia, surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Joseph Power, and her daughter, Robin Marie Power. She is survived by six sons, Michael, Richard, Christopher, James, Bryan, Kyle and nine grandchildren.
After graduating from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana and residing in Ohio, the family relocated to Virginia, where she began her fifteen-year career as an elementary school teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools. She also bred, raised, and showed championship poodles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary's Historic Catholic Church, 5612 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA at 10:30AM on Monday, January 8, 2024. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends and relatives are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Barbara's name, donations may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or the college she attended at Saint Mary of the Woods College.
