Mrs. Ruth Hinson Addison, age 82, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was born July 28, 1941, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Hazel Taft Hinson and Mamie Bowers Hinson. Mrs. Addison demonstrated her unconditional love for all her family and friends at every opportunity possible. Despite her illnesses and difficulties in life, she left this world a brighter place by way of her pleasant attitude, beautiful smile, and continuous "I love you's". She will be missed by many, but her family is so happy that she is free of the troubles of this world and able to be with her family in heaven and her Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Addison was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and was a GA leader.
Mrs. Addison is survived by two daughters, Holly Addison Crump (Clark) and Ida Addison Settle (Jason); six grandchildren, C.J. Addison (Ashlee), Matthew Crump (Amanda), Courtney Green (Chris), Addi Crump, Drew Settle and Jack Settle; seven great grandchildren; and her sister, Carolyn Addison.
Mrs. Addison was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Addison Baker; her parents; and two brothers, David Hinson and Richard Hinson.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Denise and Nate and all the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Addison.
Celebration of Life Service, Monday, January 8, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church officiated by Clark Crump. Burial in the church cemetery.
