"In the autumn of 1874, Christian, then an old man, stared walking alone, to visit his son, Sameul in Maryland, but wandered from the road and lost his way. When it was known that he had not arrived at his destination searching parties were sent out and in about ten days his body was found on the slopes of Snaggy Mountain near Muddy Creek, Md. Thomas Nethken and two other searchers noted crows flying toward a certain point; following the flight of the birds, they discovered Christain's decomposed body. Calling another party, they buried the remains where found, but after Christmas the family disinterred them and reburied the bones in the Parnell graveyard bear Cuzzart, W. Va."
