David Rodehaver, one of the best known citizens of Coshocton County, died Sunday last, at his home in Walhonding aged about 72 years. He was elected Sheriff of this county in 1857 and was re-elected in 1859. As a discharge of his duties as Sheriff. A number of thrilling incidents are told of the fearless manner in which he arrested outlaws and desperados in those exciting time.
For the last twenty years he been Postmaster at Walhonding, with the exception of one short interval.
Mr. Rodehaver was a kind hearted man of pure and honest instincts and unselfish generosity.
His aged and venerable wife survives him, as do five of their six children, Frank L., Oscar, Lemuel, Ella, Jennie all living. George now deceased. Burial Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw.
