He was a former professional American football linebacker who was drafted out of the University of Illinois by the Los Angeles Raiders in the second round of the 1982 NFL draft. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Raiders from 1982 to 1986 and for the Miami Dolphins in 1986. He is best known for his interception in Super Bowl XVIII against the Washington Redskins which he returned for a touchdown, ultimately helping the Raiders secure the Super Bowl XVII victory. Despite his success in the NFL, he chose to pursue a career in cleaning and janitorial services after leaving the league. He passed away at the age of 64.
