Born March 4, 1904 , in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Simpson and Annie Prewitt Rogers. She was a housewife and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lewis E. Grimes.
Survivors include a son, Dorlan Grimes of Richmond; two brothers, Gary and Paul Rogers, both of Madison County; five sisters, Cora Engle of Brodhead, Mrs. Johnny Layton and Mary Jane Long, both of Garrard County, Emma Layton of Lancaster and Myrtle Selts of Arkansas; and two granddaughters.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, by the Rev. Zora Oliver. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
