Rocky Point -- Mrs. Lena Smith Tompkins, 51, died suddenly at her home here Saturday morning. She is survived by her husband, James W. Tompkins; three sons, James Ed Tompkins of Sumter, S.C., Walter W. Tompkins of Rocky Point and Robert Allen Tompkins of Concord; two daughters, Miss Theresa Faye Tompkins of the home and Mrs. Dorothy A. Rouse of Wilmington; a brother, James Allen Smith, a sister, Miss Marie Smith, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Rocky Point Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. today. The Rev. E.G. Thomas officiated. Burial was in the Pike Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ivey Player, Joe Justice, Elgin Langston, Andy Myers, Lawrence Abbott and Richard Harts.
