MRS. CHARLES DONNELLY

Mrs. Charles Donnelly, 98, Elk Point, S.D., died Saturday at a nursing home in Elk Point following a lingering illness.

The former Idah Buttler, Mrs. Donnelly was born Feb. 17, 1874, in Chicago. She came to Elk Point with her parents in 1879. She attended Elk Point schools and taught in area schools for several years.

She was married to Mr. Donnelly on OCxt. 20, 1895 in Elk Point. They resided on a farm south of Elk Point. Mr. Donnelly died in 1942. She continued on the farm until 1948 when she moved to Elk Point.

Mrs. Donnelly was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elk Point and was a charter member of the Alter Society of the church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles B. of Chatsworth, Calif; Ralph of Elk Point; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Roberts of Ventura, California; and Mrs. Angelica Demmetto of Santa Maria, California; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elk Point. The Rev. John Reuland will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.
