Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Nancy Desiderio Walker; his parents, Robert and Anna Walker; sisters, Bearice Young and Esther Belcher; and a brother, Robert Walker.
Mr. Walker was employed as a machinist by Maxon Plant and Kanarr Corp. and as plant supervisor at Valley Ordinance of Wilkes-Barre until his retirement in 1979.
Albert was an active member at Lyndwood Congregational Church for many years. He was an elder, deacon and Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He was also a member of the IAH club and the Men's Association. He was also a lay minister at Valley Crest and took great pride in being able to deliver God's Word. He was currently the oldest member at Christ United Presbyterian Church, Lee Park, where he had participated in many current activities.
Albert is survived by his three children, Albert Walker Jr. and his wife, Lorraine, Nancy Ann Walker and Marie Carchilla and her husband, Joseph, all of Hanover Township. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Ronald Walker and wife, Mary Lou, Bellfonte; Donna Verfin and husband, Michael; Albert Walker III and wife Tammy, all of Hanover Township; Judith Ann Chintalla and husband, Joseph, Wilkes-Barre; Carla Sheeder and husband, Eric; Joseph Carchilla III and Marie Carchilla Balakier and husband, Michael, all of Hanover Township; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kate and John Walker, Samantha Verfin Shaffern and husband, Pete, and Alison Verfin, Matthew, Marissa and Zachary Walker, Jeffrey and Jesica Chintalla and Joseph Carchilla IV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Richard Huntington, Debbie Temerantz and all who assisted in his care, especially, Jen.
The funeral will be held Friday morning from Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., Hanover Twp., with the Rev. Anne Emery officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home.
