Raymond Byrl Alber

Raymond Byrl Alber, 81, died Oct. 13, 1998, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson, KS.

He was born Sept. 27, 1917 in Reno County, Kansas, the son of David William and Cora Ella Mosier Alber. A Little River resident since 1945, he was a farmer and stockman and retired owner of Williamson Furniture Store and Williamson Funeral Home, Little River.

He was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, Cornerstone Lodge #219 AF&AM, Cornerstone Eastern Star #310, all of Little River; Kansas York Rite, Moose Lodge #982, both of Hutchinson; Kansas Funeral Directors Association of which he had been a licensed funeral director since 1958; Kansas Flying Farmers; American Quarter Horse Association; and had been a past school board member of the Little River/Mitchell school district.

He married Marguerite Williamson in 1941. He married Linda Smith on May 31, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives of the home.

Other survivors are a son, Max L. Alber, Little River; daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Ramage, Little River; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; Richard, Verl, Gerald and George, and a sister, Luella Alber.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 1998 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Little River, with Rev. William Best and Rev. Ted Weis officiating.

Burial will be in Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River.

Visitation will be from 3 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, with the family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.

Memorials may be sent to the Rose Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Basic Cancer Research Center of Kansas State University in care of the funeral home.
