Daughter of Stephen & Mary (Sova) Swadling. Sister of Mary Ettie, George, Lydia, Charles, William, Thomas and Stephen Jay Swadling. Attended school in Albany, NY.

Married first Joseph McCrea and had 3 children: Jeanette, Leo and Glenn. Joseph died in 1906 and Emma sold the farm and moved to Webster, NY in 1907.

She married Dr. Frank B. Collins in 1913.

Emma was a charter member of Walworth Eastern Star, member of W.C.T.U. and Modern Priscillas of Webster.

At the time of her passing she had been an invalid for over 9 years. She passed away at her home on Park Avenue in Webster, NY. Emma was the Grandmother of Mac Bader and Great Grandmother of his two sons.
