Warren W. Carlton

     Services for Warren W. Carlton, 58, of 1038 McKinley, who died unexpectedly while working on his cabin at Cascade Saturday evening, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michaels Cathedral with St. Michael's staff officiating. Cremation will follow.

     Mr. Carlton was in born in Jerome Aug. 6, 1909. In 1918, he moved to Boise with his family where he spent the greater part of his life. He attended schools in Boise and Nampa and married Veva Ballance there in August, 1929.

     He served as fire warden for the Idaho Timber Protective Association at Smiths Ferry during the 1930s and then he worked for the Idaho Power Co. both at Vale, Ore., and in Boise.

     During World War II, he served at the Boise Naval Recruiting Station where he attained the rank of Chief. After the war, he operated his own insurance agency until 1958 when he sold the business and moved to Salt Lake City where he continued in the same field.

     In 1967, due to poor health, he returned to Boise and retired. Since then he had devoted his full time to his two hobbies, which he had engaged in all of his life, building and fishing.

     He was a member of Oriental Lodge No. 60, AF&AM Masonic Temple, and the El Korah Shrine, and St. Michaels Episcopal Church.

     Survivors include his wife Veva Boise; two daughters, Mrs. Veva Rae Edson, Chico, Calif., and Mrs. Sara Jane Ruppel, San Jose, Calif.; and three brothers, Neil H., Orem, Utah, and Ramon S. and Lloyd D. Carlton, both of Boise; and three grandchildren.

     Active pallbearers will include Lloyd Carlton, Raymond Carlton, Dan Flyn, Kenneth Edson, Richard Ruppel and David Flynn.

     Honorary pallbearers will be Don Smith, Clay Ballance, Bob Erwin, Gene Carlton, Mark Carlton, Warren David Edson, Ray Warren Carlton, Gene Jasmine, Wayne Cully and Marshall Edson.
