Arthur McCracken, 89, Farmington, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, May 22, 1989 at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
Mr. McCracken was born January 8, 1900 at Bonaparte. A retired farmer, he moved to Farmington from rural Bonaparte in 1973. He was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church and was a past grand master of the Odd Fellows lodge.
On April 9, 1922 at Bonaparte, he married Nora Wallingford, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Norreene) Schmitt, Farmington; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three daughters, a brother and a sister. His parents were Alonzo and Anna Franks McCracken.
The body is at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 1989. The Reverend Willard Courtney will officiate. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.
A memorial is being established with the Odd Fellows Student Fund. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
