A Christian burial for Kathryn "Kit" Odell was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Rev. W. D. Carson and Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.
Mrs. Odell, 68, was born July 13, 1939 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She died at home on Friday, May 2, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She attended nursing school at Louisiana State University Alexandria and worked for Hensel and Ball Allergy Clinic for 28 years. She is a long-time member of Pineville Park Baptist Church and its Joy Sunday School class.
Mrs. Odell was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Many will miss her warm smile, sweet laugh, and kind ways.
Her husband, Bob Odell, Sr., and her parents, Raymond B. Foxworth and Freda Crow Poe preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Bob Odell, Jr. and wife Barbara, West Bend, Wisconsin; Bruce Odell and wife Gay, Lafayette, Louisiana; and Raymond Odell and wife, Brenda, Knightdale, North Carolina; sister and best friend Virginia Bearss and husband, Patric, Pineville; brother James A. Melancon and wife, June, Alexandria; grandsons Daniel and wife, Courtney, Joshua, Peter, Jacob, Christopher, and Raymond II and wife, Michelle; granddaughters Renee and husband, Robbie Beck, Jessica and Julie; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
