NETTIE MAE ABELL, 83, Rt. 1, Loretto died at 1:35 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Spring View Manor Nursing Home. Born Sept. 5, 1896, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ernest Abell on Feb. 6, 1979. Survivors include: seven daughters, Mrs. Pauline Greenwell, Mrs. Dorothy Mattingly, Mrs. Catherine Cox and Mrs. Jeanette Bradshaw, all of Louisville, Mrs. Margaret West, Loretto, Mrs. Cecilia Wright, St. Mary and Mrs. Lois Ann Southall, Lebanon; three sons, James of Ithaca, Mich., Louis, Lebanon and Joe Abell, Lexington; 35 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Sept. 1 at St. Charles Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. B. J. Brian officiated. Pallbearers were Mike Greenwell, Rick and Tom Abell, Pat Bradshaw, Jimmy West and Joe Mattingly. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at Bosley Funeral Home.
