Adelina "Lee" Russo, 81, of Vineland passed away Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2008, after a brief illness.
She was born in Vineland and lived there most of her life before moving to Minotola. She attended art school in New York City. Lee worked many years for Model Coat Co. and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Union. She worked for 18 years in the housekeeping department at Newcomb Medical Center brightening the days of many patients. She was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, St. Michael's Church in Minotola. Lee enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, especially her famous raviolis, cavatellis, and baking her delicious cream puffs. She enjoyed playing cards, attending dances, and visiting the casinos with her sister, Mary and many friends. In later years, she enjoyed spending time watching game shows, crocheting, and word puzzles. She was a kind loving mother and grandmother who centered her life around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. and wife Marie Russo of Vineland, and Peter Russo and fianceé Priscilla Livingston of Vineland; grandchildren, Louis, Joseph, Jason Russo, Lara Gerner and Jennifer Thompson, and spouses; eight great-grandchildren; nephew, Carmen DeMarco of Vineland; niece, Marlene DeMarco of Vineland; and two great-nieces and one great nephew.
She was predeceased by her mother, Mary (Possumato) Micale; father, Nunzio Micale; brother, Anthony Micale; and sister, Mary "Gloria" DeMarco.
A visitation will be held from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Thursday at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. A funeral liturgy will be held at noon Thursday at Queen of Angels Parish Church of St. Michael, 504 West Ave., Minotola.
Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.
