The funeral of Mr. Richard Ortmann, editor of the German Correspondent, took place yesterday afternoon from Zion Church. Rev. Julius Hofmann conducted preliminary services at the home of Mr. Ortmann, 1713 Fairmount avenue.

At the church the Harmonie Singing Society had charge of the music, and at the grave the Arions sang. Mr. Hofmann paid a high tribute to Mr. Ortmann's work as an editor and to his conduct of the old Zion school, from which the present church developed. A large delegation from the Vorwaerts Turnverein was present at the services. The pallbearers were Messrs. Evan A. Heinz, August F. Trappe, Max Weissenborn, John Gfeller, John C. Fink and J. F. Pruess.

Burial was in Baltimore Cemetery.

Among the many floral tributes was a handsome design from the class of 1878 of Zion School. Those whose names appear on the tribute are Albert W. Adt, Fred Bauernschmidt, William Eckhardt, Dr. Harrry Friendenwald, Andrew Hilgartner, J. Charles Hilge, Albert H. Homburg, Charles W. Leydecker, F. W Oehm, Jr., Louise M. Reitz, Henry J. Rolker, John G. Rolker, G. L. Schanze, Francis Schleunes, Jr., John Trockenbrodt and J. Hublenberg...From the Baltimore Sun, June 3, 1912, p 9.
