A A Allison Succumbs Early Monday Morning after Several Weeks Illness From Kidney Complications--
A A Allison for two terms postmaster during the administration of his uncle, President Wm McKinley, and under President Roosevelt, died at his home on Iberia street in Mt Gilead at 1:30 o'clock Monday morning after several weeks illness with kidney and liver trouble and complications. Mr Allison had for years engaged in the business of wool buying and was one of Mt Gilead's best known residents.
About two years ago he suffered the loss of an arm in a corn shredder and since that time has been in declining health.
Mr Allison was the son of Mr and Mrs Obediah Allison was born at Sparta in 1850 making him 73 years of age at the time of his death. He was one of a family of eight children, two of whom survive, Mrs L H Heffernan of Forest, and Mrs Jennie Baxter of Chicago. There also survives one son, H O Allison and one granddaughter, Virginia Allison, his wife Eddie Leora Thomas and one son, Burr Allison having preceded him in death.
Mr Allison was a life long resident of Morrow County, having lived in Mt Gilead since young manhood. He was a postmaster here from 1896 until 1909.
The funeral services were held this Wednesday at 1:30 o'clock at the home conducted by Rev W W Jennings. Burial made in the Mausoleum at Rivercliff cemetery.
