The family moved to first Savannah, GA and then to New Orleans, LA. Mrs Phillips was again arrested by General "Beast" Butler for supposedly laughing during a Union funeral procession. She stated she had been laughing because she was at a childs birthday party and something amusing had occured. She was sent to Ship Island off the coast of Gulfport, Mississippi. Her health began to fail and she was released to her family. The family then moved to Georgia, where they stayed for the remainder of thier lives.
