Anna Bell Hughes, 86, of Decatur, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at her residence.

A native of Athens, she was a former Etowah resident and had lived in Decatur for 10 years. A daughter of the late Riley R. and Lou Kinser Sneed, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oshell R. Hughes; and one son, J.R. Hughes. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Martha Hughes of Decatur and Robert and Ann Hughes of Lamoille, Ill.; one daughter-in-law, Jean Hughes of Etowah; her grandchildren, Vance, Dennis, Kenny, Ricky, Steve, Michael, Jim and Phillip Hughes, Vicki Self and Debbie McHone; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal King and Willie Kennedy, both of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Clearwater Cemetery in Athens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
