Elvin John Welton, 88, of Wenatchee, died peacefully at his home on Monday, February 20, 2006.
He was born January 13, 1918, at Josie, Nebraska to Edward and Myrtle Welton. He married Mildred Forbes on December 5, 1937. To this union was born two children, son, George and daughter, Maxine. He was a rancher in Nebraska. They moved to Wenatchee in 1957, where he was an orchardist, worked in fruit warehouses, and Real Estate. In his retirement years, he enjoyed traveling, bowling and playing cards with friends. Survivors include his wife, Mildred of the home; his son, George Welton and his wife Silvia of Wenatchee; his daughter, Maxine Zeigler and her husband Gary of Austin, TX; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 10 brothers and sisters; and one grandson.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2006, in the Mausoleum at Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Welton's memory to the charity of your choice. Services are under the care of Betts Funeral Service.
