DEATH CLAIMS AND. BAVOLAR, NONAGENARIAN
Resident of Streator for Fifty Years Is Suddenly Claimed.
Andrew Bavolor, resident of Streator for fifty years, and a nonagenarian, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Seroka, Sr., at 502 West Fifth street at 2:10 o'clock this morning, following a day's illness attributed to complications and the infirmities of old age.
He was born in Czechoslovakia 97 years ago, and his marriage with Barbara Rusnak occurred there 68 years ago. She preceded him in death fourteen years ago.
The couple came to America fifty-one years ago, and spent a year in the state of New York, coming to Streator a year later. They were the parents of six children, four of whom preceded their father in death. There are two daughters left, Mrs. Seroka, Sr. and Mrs. Geo. Havrilla, both of Streator.
There are in addition, 21 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Mr. Bavolar was a coal miner by occupation, but it has been many years since he was able to work. He was a member of St. Stephen's church and of the Greek Catholic Union.
Funeral services will be held from the Seroka home at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning, and from St. Stephen's church at nine. Burial will take place in St. Stephen's cemetery.
