Elizabeth Gaydos (née Hovath), of Swoyersyille, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday morning, January 31, 1970, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was stricken ill at home and taken to the hospital in the Swoyersville Community ambulance. She had been in ill health for some time.
Born in Czechoslovakia, she came to this country around 1905 and had lived in Swoyersville since.
Mrs. Gaydos was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, Swoyersville.
Predeceased by her husband John Gaydos, her survivors included five sons, John, Stephen, and Joseph Gaydos, all of Swoyersville, Michael Gaydos of Pittston PA, and George Gaydos of Lyndhurst NJ; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Gula and Mrs. Dorothy Szwast, both of Swoyersville, and Mrs. Margaret Cocuzza of Rockaway NJ; 14 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
