CHARLES C. BROWN
Charles C. Brown, 82, died at 4 a.m. yesterday at his home on Black Hawk road. He had been ill for three years, and had suffered a paralytic stroke Nov 30 of last year.
Mr. Brown was born in Berlin, Germany Dec 6, 1845. He came to this country when a small boy and lived with his family in Lighteville, Ill. In 1865 he came to Black Hawk county and on April 3, 1888, married Amelia L. Liebert here.
Until 1906 Mr. Brown farmed in Barclay township, spending the remainder of his life in Waterloo except for two years when he lived in Valparasio, Ind. Until 12 years ago he was a foreman for the Iowa Dairy Seperator company.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Carl F. Brown, 622 Eureka street; two grandsons, Robert and Melvin Brown and one sister, Mrs. Amelia Kappenman, Delton, S.D. A daughter, Mrs. Nellie Oldenburger, died Oct, 18th, 1927, in Chicago.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Petersen Bros. chapel. Rev. E. B. Mounsey, rector of Christ Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be in Barclay township cemetery, two miles from the farm on which Br. Brown spent most of his life.
The Woman's Benefit association will meet at the chapel tomorrow afternoon.

The funeral of Charles C. Brown, 82, who died Sunday at his home on Black Hawk road, was held in Peterson Bros. chapel at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. E.B. Mounsey, rector of Christ Episcapal church officiated. Burial was in Barclay township cemetery.
Among the relatives who were present were Arthur and Alvin Brasch, north of Waterloo, Clarence and Raymond Liebert, and Al and Earl Canfield, Dunkerton.
The Womans Benefit Association attended in a body.

1925 Iowa Census states the Brown's residence as Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa and that Charles had entered the USA in 1853 & came to Iowa 1864 to settle in Barclay Township, Black Hawk County.
