Funeral services for Carl F. Brown, 69, a former Waterloo resident, will be at 9 a. m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Brown died at St. Francis Hospital at 3:45 p. m. Sunday following a stroke.
The Rev. Carl Rushland, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Hartford will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. There will be a parish rosary at 8 p. m. Tuesday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was a resident of Waterloo all his life until he moved to New Hartford two years ago. He was an engineer on the Illinois Central Railroad for 45 years and retired in 1955. Mr. Brown was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Hartford.
He was born Nov. 12, 1890, in Barclay township, son of Charles and Amelia Liebert Brown. He married the former Angeline Derrick on June 18, 1913 in Waterloo.
Survivers include his wife, two sons, Robert D., of 1127 Loevtla St., and daughter Mrs. Margyne Wersinger of New Hartford, and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
