George Baylor Allen was born on June 15, 1844, in Shelby, Kentucky, his father, John, was 34 and his mother, Georgian Ann (Baylor), was 24.
He married Anna M. Robinson on April 12, 1870, in Harris, Texas. They had eight children during their marriage. They later divorced.
George was a veteran of the American Civil War, serving in the Union Army from his native state.
His death certificate lists his occupation a traveling salesman. The 1910 census lists a George B. Allen as owning a farm near College Corner. His son, George B. Allen Jr. was a graduate of Miami University.
George died on September 7, 1910, in Preble, Ohio, at the age of 66, and was buried in Hopewell cemetery.
