Company E, 108th New York Infantry-Civil War

Almond Williams' pension records note that he served in Co E of the 108th NY Infantry, and, as a private in Company B, of the 6th Rgt of the "VRC" - the Veterans Reservce Corps. Film Number: M636 roll 43/44, U.S. Civil War Soldiers, 1861-1865.

Anna E. Williams was granted widow's benefits on May 22, 1905, after Chico Cemetery records indicate burial of Almond Williams "age 73" having taken place on April 27, 1908.

Chico Record, Tuesday Morning, April 28, 1908, pg 5 col 1: Brevities. The interment of the remains of the late Almon Williams took place yesterday afternoon. The funeral services were held at F.M. Edgar’s undertaking parlors at 2 o’clock, Rev. Willis G. White of the Presbyterian Church officiating.
