Eldorado Vesselius of Elkhart, Indiana enlisted as a private on March 2, 1865 in Company A, Indiana 152nd Infantry Regiment. Mustered out on 30 Aug 1865 at Clarksburg, WV. Sources: Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana.

Veterans records indicate he applied for benefits on August 20, 1890, with surname spelled "Vesselius". He was listed on the U.S. National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, 1866-1938 as Eldorado Vesseluis. In those records he is noted to have been born abt 1849, in Indiana. He was admitted to the home in 1917 at the age of 68, State: California / County: Los Angeles / City: Sawtelle / Branch: Pacific Branch.

Chico Record (Chico, California) 01 Nov 1932, Tuesday Page 5: Civil War Man Dies In Chico. A Civil War veteran, Eldorado Vesselius, who has made his home in Chico for the past three months, died at 1725 Locust yesterday at the age of 85 years.

Vesselius was a member of Company A, 152nd Regiment of Indiana Volunteers and served during the latter part of the war until 1865.

He formerly lived in Lakeport, Lake County, before coming to Chico. Relatives surviving are the widow, Mrs. Nellie Vesselius of Lakeport, and a nephew, William Vesselius of Elkhart, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Westfall Funeral Home today at 2 p.m., with the Halleck Relief Corps participating. Burial will be in the Chico Cemetery.
