Nevada Bedwell, daughter of Robert and Martha Comer, was born Feb. 23, 1872, near Spring Hill, and passed away at the Indianola Nursing home, Monday, June 29, 1959 at the age of 87.
She grew to womanhood in the Spring Hill neighborhood and on Dec. 1, 1892, she was united in marriage to Robert Bedwell. They had eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, two sisters, and her husband and 5 of her children.
Surviving her are three sons: Howard of Los Angeles, Calif.; Orville of Des Moines; and Glen of Chicago, Ill.; also 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bedwell was a life-long member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church. She was active in her church activities until her health and the infirmities of age prevented her from taking part.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Thursday at the Peterson Funeral Home. Interment was at Webb cemetery.

Mrs. Veda Bedwell who has been staying in the Sargent Nursing home in Indianola fell and broke her hip. She was taken to Iowa City hospital and has pneumonia. She formerly lived north of Spring Hill in the Greenbush community.
