Annemarie Engel, 93, of Hudson, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck. She was born on October 11, 1911 in Kiel, Germany, the daughter of Rudolf and Anna (Junge) Dohrn. She attended school in Germany and came to the United States following the war in 1948.

Annemarie married Henry Engel on October 23, 1948 in Gladbrook. He died February 27, 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Gesche Petersen and her husband Lynn of Hudson; son, David Engel and his wife Penny of Hudson; eight grandchildren: Gwen, Mitch, Bruce, Sara, Ryan, Dustin, Andrew, and Brett; twelve great-grandchildren: Kyle, Karly, Kara, Corbin, Chloe, Madison, Blake, Tyler, Kelsey, Connor, Cole and Ella. She is also survived by her sister, Kate Laue of Germany. Annemarie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herman Dohrn; and sister, Emma Haebel. [Courtesy Locke Funeral Home.]
