She was born June 23, 1919, in Manhattan, one of 14 children to the late Ray and Lena Ross.
Irene married Chester R. Baker in November 1935. Together, they had five children: Joe, Dorothy, Thomas, and twins, Ronald and Donald.
She enjoyed gardening and quilting, but most of all she enjoyed her family.
Survivors include her children: Joe (Joann) Baker of Three Forks, Dorothy (Don) Wahl and Thomas (Betty) Baker, both of Bozeman, Ronald (Mary) Baker of Kalispell, and Donald (Noralynn) Baker of Deer Lodge; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; as well as sisters, Vernia Danley, Lucille Hedrick, Ida Mae Rush, Velma Uylak, Bertie (Harold) Turnley, Patty (Rocky) Stonebraker, and Cora (Don) Nelson; and brothers, Carl (Clydine) Ross, Walter Joe (Maurine) Ross, and Ray (Estelle) Ross.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; two sisters, Dolly and Edith; and a brother, Clyde.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
