She was born April 23, 1911, to Edward A. and Fruzie A. (Golightly) Hammit at Hico, TX. She was raised in Texas. She married Bailey M. Young, Dec. 27, 1930 at Stephenville, TX. They made their first home in that area until moving to San Diego in 1943.
In 1945 they moved to Moses Lake where they worked as farmers until they retired and sold their farm. Later that year they moved to East Wenatchee where she has since lived.
Mr. Young passed away in 1989.
Collie was dearly loved by her neighbors. Survivors include her sister, Thelma Watson of Murphy, TX; her granddaughter, Sue Karen Fields, grandsons, Darren and Todd Fields, all from Brandon, MS.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Bratton, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or the March of Dimes.
Graveside services were held today at Evergreen Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
