DEATH OF MRS. WILLIAM MCDOWELL.
On last Thursday, July 10th, the news came that Mrs. Will McDowell had passed away. For several months Mrs. McDowell had been in declining health. Thou she looked well and was cheerful, always pleasant with her friends, it seemed that disease had laid hold of her and was constantly wearing away her constitution.
A few weeks ago she went to Jackson, Tenn., to visit a sister, where she was taken sick. The doctor advised that she be carried to the hospital where she might have the nursing of skilled hands. In spite of the tenderest care and the labors of skilled physicians and nurses, she constantly grew worse until Wednesday, when the final collapse came and acute Brights set up, which carried her away in a few hours Mrs. McDowell had many admirers and friends in out town.
She was a pleasant, genial and loveable lady. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service was conducted Friday afternoon from the home of Mr. M. Sadlers by Rev. J. F. Eddins, pastor of Presbyterian Church, assisted by the other pastors.
Mr. McDowell and friends have the sympathy of the whole town in this sorrow.
