Long Illness Claims Orem Man

OREM--Samuel Exile Bench, 75, 246 E 400 S., Orem died Monday in a Provo hospital after an extended illness.
He was born April 16, 1889 in Manti, a son of William and Martina Larson Bench. He married Lenora June Breinholt on Nov. 28, 1917 in Redmond, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Mr. Bench was employed at Geneva Steel for 18 years. An active member of the LDS Church, Mr. Bench held the office of high priest at the time of his death. He had resided in Orem sinced1942.
Surviving are his widow, Orem; six sons and one daughters, Marlen Samuel, Spokane, Washington; Wendell Ellis, Jay Christian Bench, both of Garden Grove, Calif.; Reid DeVon Bench, Provo; Ardean William Bench, Roosevelt; Keith Bench, Orem; Mrs. Owen L. (Valene) Bagley, Sal t Lake City; 28 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Orem LDS 16th Ward Chapel, 6 S and 4th E, Orem, with Bishop Herbert Frost officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to p.m. at the Olpin-Sunberg Mortuary, Orem, and Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Salina, Sevier County Cemetery.
