Funeral Services For Frances Westenskow
Funeral services for Frances Ann Bench Westenskow, 86, were held Saturday, October 31, in the Manti South Ward Chapel, with Bishop L. Glen Anderson conducting. Mrs. Westenskow died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myron Bird, in Delta, on Tuesday, October 27.
She was born in Manti, August 5, 1873, a daughter of William and Martina Larsen Bench, who were pioneer settlers in Manti. She was married to Peter Westenskow, October 28, 1896, in the Manti Temple.
An active member of the LDS Church, she served in many capacities in ward auxiliary organizations. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Myron (Romania) Bird, Delta; Eldon Westenskow, Moroni; Mrs. Earl (Fern) Bench, North Hollywood, Calif.; Owen Westenskow, Brigham City; Mrs. Evan (Marjorie) Gardner, Delta; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother Samuel E. Bench, Orem; and a sister, Mrs. Leah Crane, Salina.
Prelude and postlude music for the services was played by Mrs. Eunice Garbe, with other music including organ melodies by Mrs. Earl Bench, vocal solos by Eldon Sorenson and Keller Christensen, and a selection by a Delta quartet.
Family prayer at the chapel was led by Eldon Westenskow, with prayers at the services by Kay Gardner and Evan Bird.
Speakers were Mrs. Ellice Moffitt, Bruce Westenskow, Evan Gardner and Bishop Anderson.
Burial was in the Manti Cemetery with the grave being dedicated by L. R. Anderson.
