James P. Forrest, while working for the B. C. R. & N. Railroad, fell from the train and his body was found under the bridge near Linn Junction. He was survived by a wife but no children. His image was published in The Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette, Wed., June 30, 1897, page 5, along with an article about his accident. A later article suggested that he caught his fingers in the vestibule door and lost his hold when he freed them [The Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette, Fri., July 2, 1897, page 5, col. 3]. James was buried Friday, July 2, 1897 at Oak Hill. [The Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette, Sat., July 3, 1897, page 4, col. 4.]
