The Tuesday, October 3, 1905 edition of The Robesonian includes the following: Rowland Department: The sudden death of Mrs. J. W. Edens, which occurred about nine o'clock Tuesday evening, was a shock to the town. Mrs. Edens leaves a husband and two small children, one of them just one week old, which have the heartfelt sympathy of the people of the town and community.
