HOWARD O'NEAL AYLOR SR.

Howard O'Neal Aylor Sr., went to be with the Lord on Jan. 11, 2000, at Baptist Memorials Center.
Service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Southland Baptist Church with the Dr. J. Earl Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.

H.O. was born on Nov. 4, 1916, in Live Oak community in Concho County to William Milton and Katy Lillian Lloyd Aylor, the eighth of 12 children. He attended school in Miles. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1935 which later became the U.S. Air Force. He served two years in the Philippines during World War II. He was medically discharged from the Air Force in 1958 and became the engineer officer at Goodfellow Air Force Base until his retirement in 1972. He married Cleo Marie Turner on July 20, 1942.

H.O. had a special love for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, pecan trees and fishing until his health failed. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. He was the charter member and deacon at Belmore Baptist Church and at the time of his death he was a member and deacon at Southland Baptist Church.

H.O. was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Lloyd, Jim, Bill, John M., Fred and Winston; one sister, Ora Lee Tate; a son, Owen Kyle Aylor; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Aylor. He is survived by his wife, Marie, three sons and their wives, Neal
and Vivian Aylor, Kemper and Patricia Aylor and Don and Donna Aylor, and one daughter and her husband, Karen and Michael Wells, all of San Angelo; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also is survived by four sisters, Viola Crook of Wall, Helen Neal of Temple, Leta Mae Williams of Bryan and Bertha Hicks of San Angelo.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Neal Aylor III, Mark Owen Aylor, Lonnie Trowbridge, Will McNeill, Sam Fesperman, Dustin Aylor, Isaac Montoya and Kyle Haspel. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Graham and granddaughters, Sheryl Trowbridge, Jennifer Aylor, Glenda Aylor, Kemari Montoya, Stacia McNeill, Kylee Aylor, Deon Fesperman, Dara Aylor, Dawn Haspel, Elizabeth Wells and Carla Cullimore.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Johnson's Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to the Owen Aylor Scholarship Fund at Angelo State University or Hospice of San Angelo.
