Graveside services for Leonard Gray were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, LA, with Reverend David Boothe officiating.

Mr. Gray, 89, of Alexandria, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

A native of Grant Parish and U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, Leonard Gray was born on June 3, 1919. He graduated from Alexandria Business College and made a career of accounting and estate management. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars serving many positions including Louisiana State Commander. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

His favorite past-time was leisurely working and spending time at his camp located on Little River.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Murphy; son Gary Gray; parents, John and Euna Morris Gray; one brother, Lonnie Gray; and seven sisters, Vera Eubanks, Ruth Culver, Betty Chatelain, Verlie Edwards, Faye Gray, Armeline "Totsie" Gray, and Dorothy Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Susan McMillin and husband Terry; grandchildren, Lacey and Jason McMillin; brother, John L. Gray and wife Marguerite "Baby" and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Bradford, Jack Curfiss, Ray Fomby, Ted Hammond, Hank Hathorn, Levi Nealy, Phillip Smith, and Gene Wilmore.

Memorials may be made to the Charity of donors choice.
