Hattie was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Vinita, Okla., to the union of Harvey and Hattie (Meyers) Mann.
She graduated from Vinita High School and has been a lifelong resident of the four-state area moving from Vinita to Baxter Springs in 1938.
Hattie was united in marriage to Bruce Theodore Sweet Sr. Feb. 3, 1936, in Vinita.
Hattie was the co-owner of Bruce Sweet's Furniture and Gifts, of Baxter Springs, until she retired in 1979.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, of Baxter Springs.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Hattie Mann; her husband, Bruce Theodore Sweet Sr.; and a granddaughter, Cindy.
She is survived by one daughter, Thelma Waneta How, of Baxter Springs; two sons, Bruce Theodore Sweet Jr., of Mulvane, Kan., and Larry Hugo Sweet, of Webb City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Mary, Michelle, Dewey, Sonia, Eric, Brent, Lanna and Tiffini; along with extended family and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Bethel Community Church, Baxter Springs. Rev. Mark Kerr and Rev. Bud Shackleford officiating.
Family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow the service in the Baxter Cemetery, Baxter Springs, with Steve Foster, Trey Parra, Marshall Ice, Shaun Miller, Ryan Mullins and Brian Schnedler serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs.
